Hello everyone.
Has anyone recently replaced the glass in a sliding patio door and found a good balance between cost, durability, and energy efficiency? A family member suggested upgrading to insulated glass, but I am unsure whether it really helps with indoor temperatures during extreme summer heat.
I also want to know if tempered glass is worth the extra expense for safety and long term performance. The current panel has a noticeable crack spreading from one corner, and I would prefer fixing it before it completely shatters.
Are there specific warning signs that indicate the entire door frame should be replaced instead of just the glass?
