I am in the process of finally building a workshop. Problem is the city won't let me bring in separate electrical service, so I have to run it off the existing service to the house. The house service is 200 amp. There is an unused (old spa connection) double 60 amp breaker (220?) in the main service box. Should I connect my new subpanel there? Should I replace that breaker with a 100 amp 100 breaker? Or should I somehow tap the main 200 amp breaker directly?
