Do you have standing dirty dishwater or greasy grime inside your dishwasher? Does your dishwasher have a musty odor? Well do not panic! Here is a little home remedy that will help keep your dishwasher looking and smelling clean.
First, pull the bottom rack out and make sure there are no hard pieces of material that could clog the drain.
Second, place a dishwasher-safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. Leave the rest of the dishwasher empty.
Run the dishwasher through the hottest water setting available. The vinegar will help to wash away the loose, greasy grime, sanitize the dishwasher, and remove any odors.
Third, after sanitizing your dishwasher, sprinkle a cup of baking soda around the bottom of the tub and run it through a short cycle using the hottest water setting. The baking soda helps freshen the smell of the dishwasher as well as brighten the inside of your appliance.
After following these three steps, you should be left with a squeaky clean dishwasher. A routine dishwasher cleaning is important for keeping your dishwasher running correctly. Just remember, dirty dishwasher=dirty dishes.
