The only way to keep your wardrobe looking its best is to learn to enjoy doing laundry. Separating lights and darks, hand washing, and removing stains can be bothersome, but is a must-do to keep your clothes looking their best.

Here are some home remedies for removing different types of stains you may encounter:

Antiperspirant: Combine half a teaspoon of dish detergent, a few drops of white vinegar, and a half-cup of water. Press into stain with a rag. Flush with water and blot.

Chocolate: Rinse the stain thoroughly (from the back if possible) with cold water or try rinsing with club soda.

Gum: Freeze it by applying an ice cube to the gum. The frozen gum should break off.

Coffee: With a sponge, apply a mixture of one-half teaspoon of white vinegar to 2 cups of cold water.

Red Wine: Apply a little white wine (if available). Then sprinkle extensively with salt (it will absorb), and rinse immediately, rubbing the stain.

Blood:
Spit on it. Your saliva is the best thing for getting your own blood out fast. If that is not successful, soak the stained item in cold water mixed with a handful of salt.

Ink:
Gently massage some aerosol hairspray into the stain. Then, run it under cold water.
