My sister did this with a candle in the shower. We are both students and trying to keep costs down. I am doing my best to help her manage this problem. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

#1 keep candles away from your sister. #2 keep candles out of the bathroom shower. You need to replace the WHOLE tub surround as this cannot be repaired. -
Sorry Conor, I can't think of any repair method that would work either.
One way or the other though you cannot use the shower with water going down the side via that hole.
You could try as a temporary fix a patch of heavy duty marine vinyl glued in place with 100% silicone, make sure the silicone covers all edges.
This is a short term fix so your sister can at least have a shower.
