  • Basement Leaks

Live in 2 year old home. At front of home, basement wall is covered with soil, and the back there is a full 8 foot wall with windows and a door. During recent heavy rain, I noticed a leak coming from my basement ceiling on the walkout side. We have a deck that attaches to kitchen, which is above the basement. I've tested with a hose and have determined that leak is coming in from the siding somewhere. Entry point appears to be around door or above light fixture. Any ideas?
Also have noticed that I get minor leaking coming in from the walkout basement doors that lead out to the backyard. Again, when spraying with a hose, it appears that when I spray the siding above the door for a few minutes, the leak starts. I've already sealed around the doors with no luck, so I think it's coming in underneath the vinyl siding.

    Repair the basement cracks too

I hope you found some good silicone caulk to fix around your doors and siding. Urethane caulk works too.

If you have leaky basement cracks, you can repair them yourself with a foundation crack repair kit from Applied Technologies.
