  • Door not swinging closed

The door leading to my cellar is usually wide open because it tends to swing that way (towards the living area interior)as opposed to the closed position. Someone going out has to pull it shut and make sure the bolt catches. I think it is unbalanced....or something like that. I am not a skilled handyman. But I can make a minor repair. I just am unsure how to adjust the door.

The easiest solution is to remove the bottom hing pin and bend it slightly with a hammer and reinset it in the hinge. This will create enough of a bind to stop the swing.
