  • Termite damage repair

    Hello,
Just want to throw this out there:
I have a 28 year old house with termite damage along the front wall. All of the studs are gone at the bottom along with the base 2X4. I understand that I can go through and replace the damaged 2X4's easily enough, but the house has a full height brick facade. How do I put up the moisture barrier material that is attached to the backside of the studs with out tearing down the facade? I know there must be a way.
If you would like to see pictures, send me a message.
    Thanks!!

By moisture barrier do you mean the tar paper? Since you'll be doing this from the inside, will you be building a 'mini- wall' and setting it in place? If so, then you could build it, cover it and set it up in place with that all ready stapled/nailed. Just a matter of attaching to the existing studs and nailing that plate down. You could leave enough of that paper sticking up so it would fit up between the old studs and you could use roof sealer to seal that.....
