  • Propane Gas Grill

I have a propane tank that doesn't seem to deliver enough gas to run my outdoor BBQ. I just had it filled but the flames barely trickle out.

The back up tank has a bad on/off knob but works on the grill just fine.

What's wrong and can and how do you fix tanks to work correctly?

    Thanks

the large black fitting that screws into the tank valve may not be seating all the way in. the new propane tanks have a large external thread as well at the more common left hand internal thread. the nozzle has an O ring to make up the seal. try using a channel lock plier on the black fitting.

This may having little to do with your situation but I have three 20lb tanks for my BBQ, one of them an older one delivers just enough gas for a small flame when it's extra cold outside, I don't have the same problem with either of the other tanks just the one.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.

Dan the older nozzles didn't have an O ring seal on the nose of the POL fitting. It was brass to brass.

Will need to empty the tank to fix the valve or is there a way to unstick it while full
