Can I relocate the dishwasher vent to come up through the laminate counter top next to the sink? Does it matter if it is through the sink or the counter? If it floods it floods- what's the difference? I do not have a disposal so that is not an issue. I am among the millions who bought a 4 hole sink and need 5 holes![:I] I don't want to drill another hole in my new cast acrylic sink and feel I cannot trust doing away with the vent. Another option would be having the vent in the cabinet below the countertop- is that an option or does it have to be at a certain height?
Sink is ready to install and so am I! Any help would be appreciated- Fast![8)]

Yes you can, but you don't have to.
You don't need a dishwasher vent. Just create an airtrap in the dishwasher drain hose before it gets to the drain pipe.
To do this, you make a upside down "U" in the drain line about 5 inches and secure the top of the "U" somewhere up in the underside of the sink.
