Frigidaire Washer shakes & Clunks

Frigidaire Gallery washing machine model GLTF1040AS0, serial number XC41213401. When running there is a dull clunk once every revolution of the drum. When it goes into a high speed spin cycle there is a tremendous amount of vibration and clunking and banging.

We have have used the machine for about 7 years with no trouble. Manufactured 03/04.

Would appreciate any help to allow me to repair this washer. Are service manuals available and where do you get one?

i HAVE BOUGHT PARTS FROM REPAIR CLINIC DOT COM. they offer a mouse over diagram so you can see which areas are affected on your washer.

Front Load washer clunking

When running there is a dull clunk once every revolution of the drum.

Someone should inspect the 'spider' bracket (see image below) at the rear of the inner tub. They are *very* common for deteriorating and producing such sounds. It is a very big job to get to. I don't know if you'd want to tackle it yourself.

PLUS, that part may be covered by up to a 25-year limited warranty so check your warranty papers. If the part IS covered, you'd have to call a Frigidaire *factory authorized* service depot for service. The labor would NOT be covered, just the part.

BTW. If continued to be used in that condition additional and more extensive (and expensive to repair) damage may be done to the machine. I would suggest you discontinue use until it can be looked into or it might not be worth repairing in the end.


Other than that, someone would have to investigate to try to determine the actual origin of the sound before we could advise a course of action.
