Freezer Ice Auger Continuously Runs

Does anyone have any Ideas why the Frigidaire Freezer we have
(serial : FRS26KF6DW5), When we shut the door the ice auger continuously tries to run. We have to open and close the door a number of times to get it to shut off.

That could be caused by a short in the wiring to the freezer door or a problem with the wiring or activation switch inside the dispenser mechanism.

The wiring to the door should be visible around the lower door hinge. I have not seen instructions online for how to access the interior parts of the dispenser. I am not familiar with the dispenser mechanism used on your model, sorry.
