  • GE refrigerator freezing veggies

I have a GE Profile Refrigerator Side by Side, probably ~6 years old. Since late this summer, veggies have been freezing. I've tried to adjust the temperature but it always returns to 33 degrees. any thoughts about what might be happening and whether it can be fixed without the expense of a repairperson ($80 just to come to the house). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number as the forum notice suggested be supplied. If you post it we can at least look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.

Your model has some sort of electronic control??

It's the mother/main board that's gone bad. My model is PSC23MSTDSS. Had the same problem. paid GE Service folks $340 (Parts & labor) to replace. I'm pissed because my frig is only 4 years old. This is truly an inferior product although it was not bottom of the line. After researching sites like this for more information, I found that this is a problem that many folks have had and GE knows about. Apparently they use cheap motherboards made in China. After I complained to GE they gave me a $50 refund. That was about 2 months ago. Now I have a different problem with the same refrigerator.
