Whenever I try to pre heat the oven it says pre heating but always stays on "Lo"

    anyone have any ideas ?

I turned of the breaker thinking it might re set the oven ...alas to no avail.

    Clarification needed

    always stays on "Lo"
What exactly do you mean by that? The element(s) don't glow red??

      Hey dan,

Yes the element never heats up at all.

The "Lo" reference was to the digital display that starts at "lo" and progresses through the F temps until the desired temp is reached.

Does the element glo when you set it for normal baking or broil temperature?

          .

If the oven is just not heating at all, it might not be receiving 240 volts or the oven's thermal fuse (see the following link) might have failed. The latter would be a good possibility if the problem occurred after actually going through a self-clean cycle but it could fail at any time.

okay guys I'm an idiot so bare with me..lol

I pulled the oven out and located the thermal fuze, (has three hand made check marks in different colors beside it) I set my craftsman digital multi meter to Ohms 200 at which point it reads "1" when I touch the terminals of the fuze the meter doesn't change.
I'm assuming this confirms the fuze is toast ?......but ya all know what "assuming" does...lol

Am I correct and need a new fuze or am I ballsing up the process ?

check all ranges on the meter. my digital will read zero when a fuse is good. 1 indicates "out of range"

It reads "1" no matter where in the Ohms it's tested at.
