  • GE WPRE8150K Washing Machine

    The machine has begun squeaking while agitating. Not continuously, but every several seconds or so. It's a metal rubbing metal type of squeak.

    I don't know if that is a part that can be oiled or not. It seemed to begin after the washer had thrown itself around (off balance) the laundry room a couple of times.
    Bought this washer new about two years ago.

    That could be caused by the drive block between the agitator and transmission shaft (see the link below) worn and slipping on the shaft or maybe a problem inside the transmission. Maybe even just something caught under the agitator.

    I don't know if that is a part that can be oiled
    There shouldn't be any parts that need "oiling".


    It seemed to begin after the washer had [gone] off balance a couple of times.
    I don't see how that woud affect just the agitation cycle.
