  • badger 5 disposal won't shut off

I have a Badger 5 insinkerator disposal that was not working. After reading a solution posted here, I was able to fix the problem with an allen wrench. That's the good news.

The bad news is that now it won't shut off. Even if the wall switch is in the off position, the disposal is on (doesn't the wall switch control the power to the device, i.e. the disposal?). To shut off the disposal, I have to unplug the disposal, and plug it in again when needed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

Yes it does, did you plug it in the right side of the outlet.
The switch my only run the upper or lower outlet and not both.
Try to plug it into the other half.

Boy, I'm torn. On one hand, I'm very grateful that your suggestion worked - the switch does control the left side of the power outlet and the disposal does now shut off with the switch. On the other hand, I feel really dumb that I didn't try that in the first place and assume it was the disposal. Anyway, thanks very much for the quick and helpful reply.
