    oven handle cleanning?

I just tear down the handle of my Gas range and try to clean it then put it back. I found there is a aluminum paper( aluminum foil? ) sit between the handle and the oven door. When I used my screwdriver to unscrew the screws, I damaged part of this aluminium paper. I wonder if I need to buy a new one and replace it?

This model is XL44 Gas Range made by GE

maybe just an insulation foil faced between the handle and the hot surface - yes, replace it.
