I disconnected the drain valve and tried to move it, but it wont move so I cannot see what is jammed. Is there anything else I can do besides buying a new one. I can move it a little bit and I plug it back in and all I hear is a humming sound. Please help. Thank you.

Every disposal I've ever had came with a hex wrench to use for clearing jams. In the bottom center of the unit there should be a hex socket. Use the wrench to turn the disposal. Usually, turning it backwards clears the problem.
