GE Coin Operated Dryer

Friend has GE coin operated dryer , model DCCD330EDWC. Called in a warranty service tech. He said he couln't do anything because there is a key lock on the top of the machine , front left hand corner. Friend never had a key to this. Is there a way to open this machine without doing too much damage. Called all the numbers I could find for GE service and they are clueless.

Is the lock of the ACE variety - that is a circular lock? There are six or seven pins in the lock that all have to be depressed a certain distance to clear the "shear" line of the cylinder before it will turn. If the lock is of no consequence then you can center punch the middle and use a 5/16" drill to drill through the mechanism. There will be brass pieces coming out and springs to boot. Then you can rotate the rest to remove the drawer.

Thanks for the info; it is a circular (cylindrical key) style lock. It is not on the coin box. It is on the top of the machine, front left corner. "Someone" told me that these locks were just dummies, but I want to be sure before just cranking away with a crowbar! We'll sharpen up some drill bits, if that's what it takes! ( machine is only a few months old, so still is under some kind of warranty, and don't want to upset that applecart!)
