  • Replacing cooktop - Flex line is stuck

I'm replacing an existing gas cooktop with a new one. I cannot for the life of me unscrew the flex line - it is totally stuck. In fact, every nut from the shutoff valve to the end of the line is completely unmovable.

Any suggestions on how to undo these unbelieveably tight connections? I thought about WD-40 but I was told that they were likely sealed with silicone or something similar (likely this was put in back in 1995) so that wouldn't help.

In case you're wondering how I got the old one out, I had to essentially rotate around and around the cooktop until it finally came undone.

Help! I've got a big hole in my counter!

If it can not be removed, the gas line might have to be cut and then re-threaded to accept new fittings.
