My Whirlpool washer machine (model GSQ9611KQ2) would not spin and made a loud noise as it attempted to spin. I just replaced the motor coupler however before replacing it I could turn the nob on the motor and duplicate the noise yet after the replacement the nob on the motor is difficult to turn at all. I am wondering if I installed the motor coupler incorrectly.
Should I pull the motor back off and check the motor coupler before re-connecting the pump and testing the machine? I would prefer not to take it back off since it was difficult to snap those clamps back on.
Also, it is standard for this repair to be perform with the machine in its normal position or by laying the machine on the ground on it's back (to more easily set the motor in place)?
Thanks!
