Maytag washer and dryer wont stay running

I have a Maytag washer and dryer only 2.5 years old. When I came home from work the knobs on both appliances are blinking twice then stops. When I turn either one on, they will only run about 30 seconds, shuts down and the knob blinks. The electric company was out earlier in the day and changed our electric meter. Any suggestions on how to fix this. Even though my appliances are still under warranty the repair charges $125.00 just to come to the home because of our rural location.

I believe that all I need to do is reset the machines by turning the control knobs one way then another. Just not sure how to do it.

Resetting the electronic control is usually more involved than that but unfortunately, I am not familiar with the controls used on those models to say for sure. The exact procedure should be listed in the appliance's 'tech sheet' which should accompany its wiring diagram. Sorry I couldn't help more.

A Thought And Nothing More Than That On These Modern Critters

I know its too good to be true and it probably is but. Have you tried just pulling the plug, letting it sit a couple minutes and plugging it in again. Try it, it probably won't work but in this world of computerized gadgets its worth a try, its near zero effort and free.

Broke down and called the lonely Maytag repair guy (seems he isn't lonely at all, took 4 days for him to getto me!!)
Anyhow, a surge ( from when the electric company changed my outdoor meter) took out both of the circuit boards at the control dial and both the washer and dryer circuit boards must be replaced. I still have a warranty on both appliances for parts only.

Yes, I did unplug them for 24 hours and that didn't help them, they still blinked twice and then returned to "regular" and not "complete" although they did run for about 10 -20 seconds before shutting down and blinking. The blinking would start the minute I plugged them in.

The maytag repairman said that he sees alot of these circuit boards doing this.

Four days, wow, that's pretty fast. Maytag will be here in six. I also left the appliance unplugged hoping it would reset and mine had the same results. It worked for 15-20 seconds and the lights started blinking again.
Should I expect the electrical contractor to pay for any of the damages? He never asked me to unplug any appliances when he began his work.
The service call to diagnose the problem is $65. Parts are still under warranty but I have no idea what the labor will total up to until the diagnosis is made. I am extremely happy with the work the contractor has done totalling almost $3400 so I only want to be fair.

Our electrical provider won't reimburse me due to the fact that no scorch or burn marks appearing on the circuit board. I have to wait til next Wednesday for the two boards to come in. So far I have been charged $159.00 for the service call and man hours worked. Let me know how yours is turning out, if you don't mind.

Saturday, I called the service company handling the repairs for Maytag and asked if they could come out earlier than Wednesday. They called this morning and said they would have a tech here by 2pm. The tech was here for 15 minutes, swapped out the control board and as fast as I could write a check for $132, he was gone. The parts were under warranty so I was billed for labor and trip charges.

Finally got my circuit boards in on Friday. I was almost a full month without a washer and a dryer and they are only 2 years old.
