I have a GE profile fridge and the water in the door does not work. The ice still works and comes out the door, but no water. Is this common and how do I fix it?
I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number taken from the appliance's model and serial number identification tag.
You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.
** water in the door does not work. Is this common? **
It occurs occasionally.
** and how do I fix it? **
That will depend on what is causing it. That has yet to be determined.
Water failing to be dispensed could be caused by a defective water valve on the back of the fridge, a defective dispenser mechanism, a frozen water reservoir in the fridge compartment or on some models, a frozen water line in the freezer door.
