  • Water level to low . . .

I have a Frigidaire GLWS1749F Washer. When I set the water level to the highest setting the water level is still too low (about 10 " from the top). I can hold the water level reset knob to reset and it will continue to fill.

Is there a way I can set the water level control valve higher? If so how?

    Thank you.

    ** Frigidaire washer [model] GLWS1749F **

That model number is incomplete, did you get it right off the appliance's model and serial number identification tag?

** When I set the water level to the highest setting the water level is still too low **

    Has it ever worked differently?

** Is there a way I can set the water level control [switch] higher? **

The water level control will either be doing what it's designed to be doing or is defective and needs to be replaced.

the water level control is basically an air operated diaphragm switch. it operates from air pressure developed with water level within a rubber tube connected to the switch. if the tube is cracked you wouldn't sense anything

The washer has always worked like this. The number should be complete, I took it off the web site:frigidaire.com/products/laundry/washers/top_load/prod_GLWS1749F.asp Thank you

          NOT complete model number

Product web sites rarely display complete appliance model numbers (it isn't needed for their limited purpose) which is why the first message in this forum (Please include Make and Model # in post) indicates it should be only taken directly off the appliance's model and serial number identification tag.

The washer has always worked like this.
Than it is likely working the way it was designed and little can be done about it.

In the last years manufacturers of washers have had to cut back on the amount of water they use by law. On top loading washer designs there is little room for improvement so the manufacturers have been forced to just reduce the amount they fill with.
