  • What is the difference between 2 water pump p/n's: AP2907492 and 3363892

Could someone please tell me what would be the difference between the 2 following p/n's for a water pump that goes in a Kitchen -Aid Direct driver washer Cdn model YKAWE777BW1 (Kitched-Aid SuperBa SureCare 3 Speed Whisper Quiet)

    - AP2907492 < --- is this # obsolete
    - 3363892 (original Whirlpool p/n)
On ebay I also found a Supco brand pump, on the package it saids P/n LP121 replaces 3363892. Is this the real deal, quality part?

    Regards,
    Gus

Ok, I figured it out. The AP p/n has the smaller port on it.

      Whirlpool washer pump differences

      AP2907492 < --- is this # obsolete
Obsolete??? It appears to still be available and likely will be for many years to come yet. It is the most popular pump used on Whirlpool built washers.

The AP... p/n has the smaller port on it.
Yes because that pump is missing the internal flapper valve of the other which prevents waste water from backing up into the washer's drain system and that also reduces the amount of noise the pump generates during non-drain functions.

I also found a Supco brand pump. ..quality part?
That is an 'after market' replacement part. I would think it should work satisfactorily but do not know of its comparable life span. I however usually suggest sticking with genuine OEM factory replacement parts whenever possible (see the following link) unless there is no other choice or are other very compelling reasons not to.
