  • Refridgerator to cold

Have an older fridge that I converted to a "BEER KEG FRIDGE".
However the lowest setting of the temperature dial produces a temperature of 28 degrees F. (must have gotten banged out of adjustment when it got moved to basement)
I was thinking of placing a resistor in series with the cct.(20 ohms,2 watts????) sound reasonable ????
The fridge is 33 years old and runs like a deer. THANKS!

for a ker r rator go to www dot kegworks dot com and purchase an inline thermostat. I got a similar setup here in upstate ny. the thermostat bulb is just stuck in the refrigerated space and the "stat" is outside the fridge. you can dial in any temperature you want I'm assuming 38 to 42 degrees for beer and no foam. my system the fridge is out in a shed and I got an insulated line going into my kitchen to a counter top tap.

What was actually done to convert it?

[On] the lowest setting [it] produces a temperature of 28 degrees F. I was thinking of placing a resistor in series with the cct. (20 ohms,2 watts????) sound reasonable ?
      What's a "cct"??

On a standard refrigerator thermostat control system placing a resister anywhere will do absolutely nothing. If the control is not operating properly either its sensor bulb may be out of place and not sensing the appropriate temperature to act upon or the thermostat is defective and needs to be replaced.
