maytag gas dryer not working

i have a maytag gas dryer and it does heat it but just a bit. the model is a quiet plus 2 and you can fel just a bit and not much of the heat. will dry but i have to run it like 3 cycles. any hints what can it be. im very handy and think i can take it apart but before i do some help would be mice.

before you go ripping the thing apart - check for a lint build-up in the ductwork and clean it out. restricted air flow is 90% of problems.

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number ("quiet plus 2" isn't it). If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.
