  • Dryer keeps Tripping the Breaker, only on Timed Dry

My dryer (Whirlpool) keeps tripping the breaker after about 10-15 minutes of running. We called an electrician in and we're going to change the breaker...in the meantime we've noticed that it's not tripping the breaker on the "Max Dry" setting, only on the "Timed Dry" setting.

Does anyone know what this might be, is it a problem with our dryer if it's only tripping on one setting?

    Bad breaker?

Good because it or a poor connection in the breaker box is the most likely cause. If there was a problem in the dryer that was responsible, most often it would trip the breaker as soon as turned on or as soon as it started heating.

Sorry but without the appliance's exact model number I have no idea what a "Max Dry" setting would consist of on your model.

Let us know if the dryer is acting up after the electrician has finished and we'll see if we can offer suggestions. Of course, you'll also have to supply the appliance's complete model number as well.
