  • Maytag Range not working in bake mode

I have a maytag range model # mgr5770adw and the bake button stopped working all the sudden. When the 115v cord is plugged into a wall receptacle the clock displays on the control screen. If I press broil I can set a temperature. But if I click the bake button nothing happens? what is going on? Possible control board going out? If I press the lock or clean button they both work. Someone please try and tell me what I can do to resolve the problem. Thanks.

it could be the tactile push button. all it is, is a carbon dot making contact with two copper foil contacts inside the pushbutton. the pushbutton probably can be replaced. we need a complete model number to find out.
if you go to repairclinic dot com and search for your range there's about four choices at a cost of 154 through 300 dollars for the touchpad.

      Keypad failure?

As HayZee said, the contact of the control keypad for that function may have failed. Unfortunately the keypad on your model is an integral part of the control and if needed, the whole control would have to be replaced.

There may be a slim chance that just the ribbon connection between the keypad and the electronic control has become detached slightly. Its connection could be scrutinized before replacing the control.
