Kitchenaid Door Microswitch Replacement

I have a Kitchenaid Model KUDS21MS1
it has a problem where it will not run
the door latch open determining microswitch must be maunally pushed to get
the unit to turn on.

I need a new switch - - where can I get one
Is it easy to replace ?? it looks like two screws

How does the switch determine the door is open
as my old unit used a pin that went into a hole

this unit has that hole covered with a metal plate that seems to go back over to the microswitch - could that plate be bent ??

I don't know on your particular model. Door switches are not usually very difficult to replace.

How does the switch determine the door is open

With the switch used on your model it looks like the lever on the switch activates the switch plunger and in turn, the switch's internal contacts.
