My Onkyo receiver no longer completely turns on. It is a TX-844 from about 1992 and it has always worked fine. There is a switch of some sort in the receiver that makes a loud audible 'click' about two to three seconds after the on button is pressed that then let's the receiver work; it has something to do with making sure that all the power levels are correct before actually turning on. This is a sound it has always made and it is a sound that it is supposed to make. This loud 'click' no longer occurs; but there is a very faint click that occurs at the same interval as before, but the receiver just doesn't have any output anymore. The stereo turns on, and everything looks correct, but no sound comes out of the stereo. I checked all of the connections and they are all fine. In fact, I unplugged all of my components, the antennea and the speakers and when I turn the receiver on all by itself the same problem occurs. I believe I have to replace a part on the board that I am willing to do, I just don't know which part. Any suggestions would be great.
