  • Acurus A250 not working after a breaker was tripped.

My amp was working perfectly and then the power went out in part of the house when a breaker tripped. I have my equipment plugged into a duty Tripp-Lite Isobar Premium surge and noise suppressor (the metal case type).

When you turn on the amp with nothing else powered up it puts out a loud hum that starts as a deeper tone (it varies a bit) then lightens up just a bit in about 30 seconds. If I play music you hear the music out of both speakers but the loud hum and static is way louder than the music. This is NOT a ground loop type of sound that can be fixed with a cheater plug.

    Any ideas?
Thanks so much for any help.

your power supply may have been hit with a spike when power was restored. what sort of filter and regulation does it use? it almost sound as if a filter capacitor is charging up.
