  • zenith xbs444 overheating/shutting off

i hope this can help anyone who owns a zenith xbs444, which overheats and shuts down due to the voltage regulators sensitivity to heat,,,airflow is essential,,,this is an alternative fix to replacing the regulators,,,step 1: remove the cover,,then remove the fan and connect the black wire to a ground point on the frame, a good spot would be the brace screw for the circuit board nearby on the left,,re-install the fan and make sure the wires are clear of the blades,,this will keep the fan running at all times,,step 2: use some tape to cover any open holes/spots on the bottom panel,, and then tape over about 75 percent of the larger vents in the top cover,,make sure the cover is replaced nice and tight all around,,, this will create a larger airflow through the small vents to the regulators,,, i have done this and it works! not a problem since!!
