  • How Serious Are Electrical Issues Found During a Home Inspection?

    Hello everyone.

We recently received our home inspection report and the inspector flagged several electrical concerns including outdated wiring and a double tapped breaker in the panel. Our agent says these are minor issues but I am genuinely worried.

Can outdated wiring actually cause fires or is that exaggerated? Should we negotiate with the seller to fix these problems before we finalize the purchase, or ask for a price reduction instead?

We also noticed the inspector recommended a licensed electrician evaluate further. Does that mean the situation is more serious than it appears? Looking for guidance from anyone who has dealt with this before.
