  • Smoke alarm problem

[|)]I have had an interesting but sleepless night. My smoke detectors keep going off (this is the alarm and not the battery low chirp that I'm familiar with) intermittantly but I dont see any smoke.
They are hardwired to electric. I have done what the instructions say
to do and vaccumed them with a brush but they still go off. I have
went to each one and tested them and they all appear to be working. None of the smoke detectors are indicating that they are the one sensing the smoke. I experimented and turned the ac power off and found that even on battery power the alarm will go off. Any advice? Thanks!

I realize I'm replying to my own topic but if anyone out there is
interested on how I resolved my smoke alarm problem, heres the answer:
I called an electrician. They came out and heard the smoke alarms
sound intermittantly just like I had. The electrician went to each
smoke detector and could not find anything wrong with any of them.
He called his boss who told him to check all the wiring connections at each location. He found a faulty connection in one of our bedroom smoke detectors and corrected it. Have not had a false alarm since. Slept real good last night!! Thanks for listening. Good night.
