It's a RGV6101 robin/Subaru generator, starts great runs for about 3 seconds then dies. Carburetor is squeaky clean. I'm pretty generator is cutting out the spark, but I dint know why.
if its anything like a honda engine [OHV] there are two 10mm nuts that lock the valve train rockers underneath the valve cover. they are adjusted for zero lash. the idle screw on the carb is adjusted 1 1/2 turns out from the fully closed position. the spark is produced by a magneto and permanent magnet on the flywheel so there's no adjustment for spark. the gap between the magneto and flywheel should be around .032" or the thickness of a matchbook cover.
