  • Sub Panel connection

I just had the power company out to install the main power pole and
service box,200 Amp, with a main cut off box. I now need to add a
sub panel to the bottom of the main cut off (i have the sub panel)
but am unsure just how to wire it in. . . Any help ?

How many amps would you like to bring into the sub panel?

I need a 220 plug for the RV and then a GFI 110 for additional
      power needs. . . .

Figure out how many amps you want in the sub panel. Let's assume 60 amps. In your main box, use a 60 amp breaker with poles to attach the line that runs to your sub panel. Attach that line from the 60 amp breaker to your sub panel main.

At this point you have 60 amps x 110 volts to your sub panel. Now add breakers to the sub panel as needed. You could run 20x2 to the 220 plug, and a 20 amp line to the 110, for example.

If you pull more than 60 amps on your sub panel, the breaker on the main panel will flip (assuming it is a 60 amp breaker).

You really need to know what you are doing, make sure you understand volts and amps, and how it works together.

Does that help? Ask and I'll try to clarify. I believe this has come up before, do a search http://www.homerepairforum.com/forum...asp?FORUM_ID=3 and you might come up with a better reply.
