220 circuit

Hi, I recently got an air compressor (used) with a 220 motor on it. There used to be a 220 outlet in my garage fot the dryer, but we remodeled and got a gas dryer and gas stove. What details are entailed in installing a new 220 outlet? Would it be easier to just find a 120 motor? Thanks

Is it a 220 Single Phase or Three Phase? If it is single phase, it is not hard. All you are doing is changing over an existing outlet right? Just find the correct outlet (or hardwire in depending on the Motor setup) at the Hardware store and follow the instructions. Reply if you need more specific wiring details.
