  • Fluorescent Fixture Flickering

I have a circline fluorescent on my kitchen ceiling. I recently replaced the bulbs. The old ones last 14 years or more.

Just lately, the light flickers when I turn it on. I have a clue:
It flickered worse and went out when I turned on the microwave. I assume they are on the same circuit.

But this never happened before. Nothing in the wiring layout has been changed. Could it be a supplier voltage problem? I don't think so because it is doing it all the time for more than one day.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

circline fixtures also have startes - did you replace these? also the old ballasts were made of laminated iron cores sealed with pitch which being mounted up on the ceiling got hot and oozed the pitch causing buzzing from the laminations and so the voltage would go up and down causing flickering. if the microwave is on the same circuit then the surge on that line would drop the voltage on the light and come right back up .
