  • Dimmer Problem when used with multiple lights

    Hey guys,

So I have 3 can lights that are wired all to the same switch. Previously I had used a simple $0.99 common light switch to turn them all on and off. It worked great, no problems.

Now, I just bought a Cooper 'Aspire' dimmer switch to hopefully be able to dim all 3 can lights at once with this new dimmer. BUT, I attached the ground and the 2 black/hot wires to the new dimmer switch and no lights are working at all.

I am wondering if dimmers are designed to only have one light on the end rather than 3?

Any help here would be awesome!
    Blessings,

most dimmers are made to accept 600 watts of lighting loads - so multiple lights shouldn't be a problem. The dimmer connects just like a regular switch - one wire to the hot and the other to the load.
