  • cottage help!

I own an OLD cottage, a shack really (no heating/insulation)... after shutting down for the winter, I opened it up yesterday. The power worked fine for most of the day when, inexplicably, half the power stopped working. (I estimate half but, since the fuses aren't labelled, it's truly a guess.)
I checked each 15 amp fuse by interchanging it with one I knew was working (with a radio), and each fuse worked! There are 8 fuses in total... 2 columns of 4. Below those, are two 'tube' fuses at 60 amps (I think). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

if the exchanged fuses worked to feed power to your circuits, next place would be to find an open neutral. this could be anywhere, a back wired outlet, a junction box etc. a loose neutral at an outlet in a circuit loop.

Thanks for your note. I'll be going up next weekend and will test your theory. A friend suggested that the 2 'tube' fuses under the 8 15 amp ones, were 'main' fuses and he said I should plug in new ones. I'll try both. Thanks again.
