No Power to plugs or light

I had plugged in a grinder to use. It started and stop almost right away. Now the plugs and the light in the garage will not work. The circuit breaker was not tripped. Could the breaker been damaged but not tripped. I shut the breaker off and let it sit a few hours and went back to try it again and same results. Thanks for any help.

Look around at all the receptacles in the garage or just outside.
There is likely a GFI tripped.

How old is the house?




If not then there could be a bad connection at a receptacle. Are the wires just stuck into the back of the devices, or are they on the screws.

Yes, I am sure as I ran the wire. I added them when I converted the carport to a garage. They worked fine, but every once in a while it would stop working and take a couple of hours to work again. This time it will not come back on. That is why I thought maybe the Breaker was fried. or could it be one of the outlets in the circuit is fried?
I have not checked them.

well through the process of elimination take one outlet out one at a time and check. since you wired it, take out the first one in the chain and check it. did you use quick wire outlets?

Yes I did ....

Then there is your problem as I alluded to before.
Go to each one and check the connections. While you are at it move the terminations to the screws so this does not happen again, and I can assure you it will.
