    wiring bsmt with steel studs

I am going to wire my basement but I have steel studs, I have bought some of the round grommets but my studs have a rectangular + square shape. I have looked for this shape grommet but have found none. How do I protect my wiring from expansion and contraction?

    Andrew,

    Welcome to the forum.

Take a close look at the bushings you have. Most of them do come round and are made to fit any of the prepunched holes (sometimes you have to break off a tab or flange from the bushing first). There are a couple manufactures for these parts Bridgeport, Arlington and others. You can check with a local electrical supply house.

    Good luck, Jim

I use round grommets by Greenlee, yellow, about 2'' in diameter, and they will fit and hold in the square precut holes in most metal studs. You can also use a puncher to cut new holes for your wire.
