  • pool heat pump install

I just bought a new heat pump for my pool. It is basically a 220V compressor and fan, just like a central AC unit. From the wiring diagram there seems to be only three connections, the two hot wire (Red and Black)and a ground, no neutral white? Is this possible or am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

if there is no white (neutral) then it's a pure 220 volt heater. neutrals are included if the circuit requires 220/110 volts, much like a range stove..this is because at lower temps the stove is only using 110 volts. Water heaters, on the other hand only use 220, so there is no nuetral involved in that wiring.
    Your compessor is pure 220.
