  • What Next?

    I am trying to split the 220v circuit for a window unit to be used for electric heat. Thus none of the outlets will be used at the same time the ac is being used.

    can't use the 240 volt to make two 120 circuits because you don't have a neutral and you can't use the bare earth ground as one. at the panel you can remove one side off the 240 breaker and put it to the neutral and get a 120 volt circuit.

      EXACTLY!

      You CANNOT have it both ways. That can either be ONE 240v circuit or ONE 120v circuit.
