A large tree branch fell on the service drop for my house, so since the power is cut I replaced my 125A breaker panel with a 200A panel and I'm confused about how to ground the panel. It's a Homeline panel I picked up from Home Depot. The neutral bus grounds to the panel via the provided screw. There is a smaller lug directly next to the main lug on the neutral bus, is this where the ground wire terminates? Do I attach a larger lug to the grounding bar and terminate the ground wire there? Or both? There is a pre-drilled hole marked for ground, do I screw a lug in there to terminate the ground wire? What size wire is required for a 200A panel?
1. How many grounds are required for a 200A panel?
2. If two grounds are required,
2a. Do I have to ground the panel to my plumbing for a secondary ground
or can I use two separate grounding rods instead?
2b. Do I terminate one wire at the smaller lug on the neutral bus and the
other wire at the grounding bar?
3. What size ground wire is required for a 200A panel?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
