  • Connecting a range hood

This should be my last electrical question (hopefully).

There are 3 wires in the box where the power is coming from.

Wire 1 - Goes to range hood. Black, white, ground.
Wire 2 - Power. Black, white, ground.
Wire 3 - Goes to next outlet in series. Black, white, ground.

Right now I have the power (wire 2) going into LINE and the next outlet (wire 3) going into LOAD. This works.

But, there is a wire in there that attaches to the range hood (wire 1). My question is, how do I fit this wire into the existing configuration?

put the feed and the range hood and a pigtail under a wirenut. put the pigtail wire on the black of the gfci. do the same with the white wire. put the white pigtail under the nickel screw on the gfci. tie all bare grounds together and put its pigtail under the green screw.
