  • About my fusebox

    Hi everyone;

    I have a question about my fusebox located outdoors. I know a normal 60 amp box has 2 60 amp buss fuses..the longish cylinder type

    However this one has 4 buss fuses.. 2 on the left and 2 more on the right side inside. Is this rated as a 100 amp box or 120?

    I know at times I am pulling over 60 amps in here..and nothing out there ever blows.

    The box is located right below the meter which feeds it #4 stranded copper wire.

    Someone did tell me however the second bank should be 40 amp buss fuses..but hey..what do I know? lol

    Thanks

    yours is a main box with two "pullouts." the pullout with the 60's is your MAIN, the other pullout with the 40's is your electric range pullout. the longish fuses are called cartridge fuses.

      Ok, but what is this box rated at amperage wise? I cant tell because no tag on it, and it has been painted too. Was I correct to assume it is 100 amp?

      The reason I want to know is so I wont go over it's limits if I add any more circuits, or loads.
