We insatlled some Mexican tile on our screened in porch. We sealed it, and it looked great! But since the mfg said not to use the second type of top coat on floors that get wet, and we didn't want a shiney surface anyway, we didn't put the top coat on it. However, now we are getting lots of scratch marks on the floor from the patio furniture. It seems we will have to sand the sealer off and reseal it to get rid of the scratches. But how do we prevent their return? What do people use for protecting mexican tile on their outdoor patios?

Since Mexican tiles are porous and not glazed they are softer and more subjected to scratching than glazed tiles. You may find it hard to totally eliminate the problem.
