Hi--
I've been in my house for a little over a year. Built in 1953. I have hardwood flooring throughout the main level. I don't know how old the flooring is. Just last week I noticed that there are noticeable gaps between ALL of the floor boards. Some as big as 3/8". This didn't happen last winter, but it has been extremely cold and dry. I'm wondering if the floor just isn't sealed properly and the boards are contracting? I don't think it's due to the house settling as it's evenly occurring throughout the main level. Will the boards expand again as soon as the humidity levels rise?
